New early warning test to tackle diabetes

I found this article earlier and although the principle is a positive step forward in the prevention of type 2 diabetes,it can only really be useful as a tool in conjunction with correct dietary advice and the correct dietary information is carbohydrate restriction and a clean, natural unprocessed diet.

Below is a snippet from the article

“A TEST is being developed to predict the risk of getting diabetes up to 10 years before it takes hold

The new early warning system could help prevent millions suffering from the killer condition.

By the time standard diabetes tests reveal high levels of glucose in the blood it is too late to prevent it. But now scientists have identified a new warning sign – low levels of a liver protein called SHBG.

It means a quick test by a GP to detect levels of the chemical in the body could pinpoint those at risk.

People shown to be susceptible to Type 2 diabetes would be able to nip it in the bud by adopting a healthier lifestyle.”

Good article, thanks for posting it here.
A very relevant point “and the correct dietary information is carbohydrate restriction and a clean, natural unprocessed diet.”

Forgive me, but well worth repeating I thought.

    All the best Jan
